Planning Tips

Rock out your wedding day!!

Getting Ready: As you know I love shooting in natural light. This is an important factor to consider when you plan where you will be getting ready. Having great window light or an outdoor area will make a World of difference in your images!

Consider renting a home instead of a hotel! Airbnb has so many options of locations with character making your getting ready shots super fun!

First Look – This is a private and intimate moment between the bride and groom before the ceremony and I am a big fan! Many couples now are opting for a first look to get pictures done early and focus on spending time with their guests after the ceremony and enjoying their cocktail hour. If you choose not to do a first look make sure to have plenty of sun light out after your ceremony concludes for photos!

Family Formals – Many of my couples ask my opinion on who to include in your family list. I suggest to most of my couples to include immediate family and grandparents. Names of these family members will help me organize on the day and have a seamless process for these portraits. If you would like to include other family members (cousins, aunts, uncles, etc…) lets plan to make sure there is enough timing for everything :)

Details- As you plan the big day be sure to set aside extra copies of materials and items that you use in the process. These details can be a great tool to help me style and capture your wedding’s vibe. These can include anything from stamps, to ribbons, invites and more!

Natural Light- I plan a lot of my photography time around lighting! I will help you along the way plan out the best timeline to produce those amazing images you have seen on my website and leave a little extra time for those sunset portraits too! For receptions, I adore outdoors! Try opting for bistro lights or chandeliers over your dance floor and try to avoid too many crazy colorful strobes that leave dots and specs on your beautiful dress!
